Dr. Montesano established residency in Alaska 30 years ago after finishing college, though he fell in love with the state during his college summer spent on commercial fishing boats around the state.  After several years in the environmental engineering field, he studied medicine in rural Canada.  Upon returning to Alaska, he first worked in many remote communities.  As a rural trained physician, he developed a wide range of skills caring for the young and elderly and acute to chronic care.  He has an interest in metabolic disorders and particularly disease prevention.

What his patients are saying:

“Dr Montesano is wise. I appreciate his honesty and emphasis on preventative care.”

“Dr Montesano gives a realistic look at what is sustainable and necessary as healthy habits and gave me a goal to shoot for.”

“Dr Montesano is practical, caring, kind, and funny. I always feel better after having visited him.”

“I am very grateful to be a patient of one of the best doctors I’ve ever met…and I am a retired doctor who has met thousands of doctors.”

“I was at my wits end when I met Dr Peter who, unlike other doctors I’ve seen, treated me like a person with respect and dignity..”
