Customer Service Representative/Admin Assistant

Job description

Medical Park Family Care is adding a Customer Service/Administrative Assistant to our team.

Supervision Received: Reports to Revenue Cycle Director

Supervision Exercised: None

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

· Manage patient inquiries and work with appropriate department manager to resolve patient complaints and concerns

  • Display a caring and responsive attitude and conduct all activities respecting patient, family and employee rights and expectations

· Maintain HIPPA, PHI confidentiality of teammate personnel records along with patient records and procedures

· Collaborate with Revenue Cycle Director on policies/procedures

· Back up Check in/check out patients at Front Desk

· Books, coordinates and reschedules patient appointments. Relays necessary messages to staff.

· Greets customers/patients in polite, prompt, helpful manner. Provides any necessary instruction or directions.

· Provider Credentialing

  • Attends meetings/training as required.
  • Maintains strictest confidentiality.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Job Qualifications:

  • High integrity, excellent judgment
  • Excellent organizational and analytical skills. Ability to work well both independently and with others.
  • Knowledge of HIPAA and HITECH regulations
  • Knowledge of reception tasks, clinic policies and procedures, customer service concepts and techniques.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with patients, employees and the public.
  • Ability to read, understand and follow oral and written instructions.
  • Ability to organize and prioritize tasks effectively.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to meet deadlines and adjust to changes in company policies, procedures, and priorities.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel and PowerPoint preferred.
  • Customer Service in a medical office preferred

· Knowledge of medical terminology and coding systems.

· Ability to work independently and make sound judgments involving technical and confidential material.

· Ability to use tact and discretion in dealing with health care providers, employees and patients.

Physical Demands:

· Work may require hand dexterity for telephone and office machine operation, stooping and bending, sitting for extended periods of time, occasional lifting up to 40 pounds.

Environmental/Working Conditions:

· Work is performed in an office environment and involves the need to multi-task. Interaction with others is constant and may be interruptive. Contact may involve dealing with people who are unwell.

Experience:

2 years experience in a Medical Office setting preferred.

Education:

  • High School diploma, some college preferred

Job Type: Full-time

Salary: From $22.00 per hour
